Angora and Cashmere – The Petite Border Collie Sisters ~ ADOPTED!

Angora and Cashmere – The Petite Border Collie Sisters ~ ADOPTED!
Gorgeous Angora!

Angora and Cashmere are petite Border Collies. They are sisters, who come to us from Athens, AL. They are very affectionate and intelligent. We believe them to be about 1 year old, and are heartworm negative.  They love eachother’s company and the company of other dogs. For those of you who are having trouble telling them apart, Angora has the all-black head, whereas Cashmere has the white blaze on her head. They are available for adoption together or separately.

Cashmere knows she's beautiful

Last month we were told about two sisters in Athens, AL that were very timid, and needed rescue. I took one look at their picture, and was absolutely smitten. We had to get these girls out of the shelter. I called our good friend Deb Gaylord, who has helped us save so many dogs, and asked if she could help us out with these two Athens Girls. The words were no sooner out of my mouth, and Deb was on it. Within 24 hours of our conversation, Deb had our two “Athens Girls” and Tiny Tim! Tiny Tim came down on transport immediately, but Deb offered to foster the girls in Alabama until they were 100% ready. Well, 3 weeks later, these girls are completely over all of the stress of being in the shelter, and are now happy and healthy!

The sisters are loving their new yard!

For those of you that know me and my wife, you’ll know that we have a thing for siblings! We adopted the Spice Girls (Sisters), then our very first fosters were Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp (Brothers). So once the opportunity to foster these beautiful sisters arose, we JUMPED at the chance! And once again, we are absolutely loving it! Angora and Cashmere are such sweet girls. They absolutely love to play with eachother and with other dogs. As we’ve seen with our other siblings, they both have an incredible bond where one seems to know what the other is going to do next. It is hilarious to watch them interact! The one thing that does stand out from our other siblings that we’ve known, is their ability to integrate into a pack, they are incredibly social. They love playing with other dogs, as much as they love playing with eachother. They hold a wonderful bond, but both have such unique personalities! I am really enjoying getting to know them, and I’m looking forward to telling you much more about them, as I get to know them even better.

01/14/12 Foster Update: Well, as I get to know Angora and Cashmere better, I’m seeing so many similarities with them and my own girls. Angora is certainly the more assertive of the two, and usually wins in the play department. Cashmere is a little bit more affectionate, but only by a very small bit. They both love to stick their noses in your face while you are sitting on the couch! They play incredibly well with all of the other dogs, and are so good with Boyd who LOVES to pull their tails, stick their head in his mouth, and just be an overall playful hooligan! These sweet girls are going to make a wonderful addition to any family, and I can assure you from experience that two is always better than one 😉

ADOPTED!: 02/01/12: Angora and Cashmere have been adopted by Scott and Katie of Tampa! They had been looking for the perfect additions to their family for about six months, when they came across Angora and Cashmere, needless to say they were interested immediately. Unfortunately for them, the girls were in such demand with meets already scheduled, we basically told them, it was unlikely that the girls would not be adopted. Nevertheless, they asked to be kept informed on their situation, and when the girls went through their final meet without being adopted, I got straight in touch with Katie and asked if they were still interested. Of course they were! They scheduled the meet almost immediately, met the girls, and fell in love with them instantly! I am so happy for the girls, as I know they have found their PERFECT forever home!

I am currently fostering Angora and Cashmere in my Kissimmee home. For more information about them, or if you would like to set up a meet for either Angora or Cashmere, or both, please contact me at kevin.thedogliberator@gmail.com

We have many more photos of Angora and Cashmere on their Facebook Photo Album

  1. I have a 2 year old border collie of my mine and my grandmother has fallen in love with her. She really wants one too and i have been hunting for a while. I think one or even both of the sisters would be a good match for her. I was just wondering how much you wanted for them.

  2. Our sweet Border Collie/Aussie mix died May 2010 at age 15. She was wonderful and we have all missed her. My 13 year old son and I feel ready for a dog in our lives again. My husband is slower on this front. Maybe we need two girls! Angora and Cashmere are great. If my husband decides he’s ready, we’ll be emailing you. I hope whomever adopts them can take them together. I’d hate to see them separated. Thanks for all you do. (I was excited to see you are in Kissimmee as we are in Orlando.) 🙂
