The Dog Liberatorâ„¢

The Dog Liberator rescues abandoned dogs throughout the Southeast. Based in Central Florida, this non-profit organization fosters all of their dogs in a home environment. Founded in 2009, all dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The Dog Liberator focuses in rescuing the herding breed, which consists of Border Collies, Shepherds, Sheepdogs, Aussies, Collies, and Deaf/Blind Dogs.

Note:  Due to the number of phone calls and emails we have received from shelters and pounds please be aware that Sam Mauldin no longer volunteers for The Dog Liberator.  She can not pull, transport, or foster dogs for our rescue.

A local Aussie Rescue asked us to take in three adult Australian Shepherds last week.  Jessica Hitchcock offered to pull and transport.  How could we say no?  Here’s  George Patton, and contrary to popular beliefs, he looks like a Border Collie to me, and I’m sticking with it!

Jessica Hitchcock Writes:  (George) Patton – He is a sweet brown-eyed Aussie boy with a pleasing personality and a gorgeous full tail. He likes people and has been polite when meeting other dogs. Since he’s so attentive, it is fun working with him as he learns basic commands, walking on leash, and being an in-the-house dog. He is fairly quiet when crated, and thus far seems to be adapting quite well. He is approximately a year old and is scheduled to be neutered next week.

More photos and details will be coming soon.  Click here to see his photo album on Facebook.

George is on his way to Gainesville where he will be adopted by Sam Mauldin. Special thanks to Erica Brilliant who volunteered to transport him to his new home!
