The Dog Liberatorâ„¢

The Dog Liberator rescues abandoned dogs throughout the Southeast. Based in Central Florida, this non-profit organization fosters all of their dogs in a home environment. Founded in 2009, all dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The Dog Liberator focuses in rescuing the herding breed, which consists of Border Collies, Shepherds, Sheepdogs, Aussies, Collies, and Deaf/Blind Dogs.

Payton, the Submissive Border Collie-Adopted!

Payton is approximately 6 months old and is being fostered by Lindsey Mains. Her mother is a Border Collie, but I think it is safe to say that her father is a Black Lab. She is a wonderful combination of the two. She is very submissive, and gentle. She would be awesome with children. She is affectionate, and is easy to train.

According to her foster, “She is the sweetest of the bunch. On the way home, she cuddled up with me in my lap and fell asleep. At home she loves to plop down in front of you with her belly exposed so you can give her lots of loving. This girl has the best of both worlds: she is calm and sweet inside and outside she loves to run around. She does really well in the crate and does pretty well with doing her business outside. She is a real beauty! She is beautiful golden brown eyes and shiny, soft fur that is solid black. She weighs about 30 lbs now and still has a little bit of growing room.”

Payton’s photos are available on Facebook.
