Polka Dot the Border Collie Puppy ~ Adopted

Polka Dot the Border Collie Puppy ~ Adopted
Classic markings

Amy Benz has no idea how to take a proper vacation!  She and her mother were driving to Memphis to tour Graceland and spent the night in Atlanta.   After dinner Amy decided to peruse Craigs List, and what did she find but a photo of a border collie!  She called the number and talked to the folks.  They told her that a puppy had wandered up to their rural home.  They’d contacted all the neighbors but no one claimed it.  They suspected that it was yet another case of someone driving out to the country and letting go a puppy they didn’t want.  Bright and early the next morning Amy was, no, not on the way to Memphis, but rather on the doorstep of these good people.  She called me from her car.  “I’m about to be your hero.  Wait until you see this puppy!  She is beautiful, about 12 weeks old, a Border Collie with a full white ruff and the cutest polka dots on her nose.”

"Touch me" coat

Well, Amy became my hero a long time ago, but yes, this puppy is exactly as she described.  I don’t need to tell you how she got her name.  But I will say that she is charming.  Vicki Truelove fostered her for a few days before driving her to me.  At Vicki’s, she already demonstrated that she was housetrained and a little adventurer.  She climbed up on the back of the porch couch to peek into the living room.  She went into the stable and licked the horses.  She played all day long with PawPaw.  Yes, she is wonderful!

Polka Dot is so photogenic that my camera is never far away. Make sure you look through her extensive photo album.

I am fostering Polka Dot in Winter Park. If you think you might be interested in adopting her, please first read our page on Starting Your Dog Off Right, then review our Adoption Process and e-mail me at Holly.TheDogLiberator@gmail.com

August 7th Update:

Polka Dot is so funny! She found the cup with ice and was bound and determined to get to the bottom of it. Extra points for perseverance!

Vicki and Polka Dot

August 8th Update:

Vicki just dropped by on her way home to Georgia to say goodbye to Polka Dot.  Our girl jumped into her lap, gave her kisses, and then rolled over onto her back for a belly rub.  Vicki was teary eyed.  She really loves this little girl.  And what’s not to love.  No worries though, she is going to find a fabulous home.  All of my puppies do.

Here is a bonus video for you.  All the puppies were outside playing this morning and I, of course, had my camera in my hand.  Here they are enjoy the morning together.  Adorable!

Going home with Matt, Susanne and Riley

August 11th Update:

The lovely Polka Dot has found her forever home. Susanne and Matt came to meet the puppies with their well-trained 6-year-old BC Riley. So many puppies ~ what to do, what to do? It finally came down to PawPaw or Polka Dot, and since Susanne favors girls, then Polka Dot it was! Funny thing is, she’s a lot like Riley in both appearance and temperament. And since Susanne and Matt enjoy training, I think she’s going to really reach her potential. Tampa, welcome your newest Dog Liberator pup!
