SochiThis 16 month-old gorgeous girl has a story to tell. Rescued from Greenville, Alabama, she was owner-surrendered after her owner developed cancer and could no longer care for her. It’s obvious that she was very loved by her former owner. She knows sit, down, bow, shake, high five and high ten!  You can see more photos of her on Facebook.

Her real name is Sheila, and although she has been trained to understand commands, she is fearful and she needs to slowly be exposed to new experienced to increase her self-esteem. She also uses her mouth to communicate. This is something we have seen in many dogs, and it might be primarily because as puppies, they are allowed to mouth your hand when playing. Both Pablo and Boots were mouthers. This behavior needs to be constantly corrected and re-directed.

SochiSochi has a lot of energy, is very intelligent, and is athletic. She is not a couch potato! We are looking for the perfect home for her – someone that will take this gorgeous dog and offer her advanced training to keep her mind and her body occupied!

01/19/14 Update:  Sochi was adopted by Wendy Melchior.  Details coming soon!
