The Dog Liberatorâ„¢

The Dog Liberator rescues abandoned dogs throughout the Southeast. Based in Central Florida, this non-profit organization fosters all of their dogs in a home environment. Founded in 2009, all dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The Dog Liberator focuses in rescuing the herding breed, which consists of Border Collies, Shepherds, Sheepdogs, Aussies, Collies, and Deaf/Blind Dogs.

The Unsinkable Molly Brown – Pup found in plastic bag – Adopted

I will be receiving Molly Brown August 29th. She comes to me fully vetted.

Molly Brown was found on the side of the road in a rual area, tied in a plastic bag with her litter mate. Her litter mate has been adopted, and I’m determined to give Molly Brown the chance that her original owner refused to give her. Molly Brown will undergo several days at my Border Collie Boot Camp where she will learn basic social skills and manners. Once she is evaluated, I will provide a detailed update, new photos and yes… a video!

Molly Brown is a very sweet and smart Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix. She learned how to walk on leash quickly and is eager to please. She loves other dogs, is up-to-date on shots and she is dewormed.

I believe that Molly Brown will protect her family and be a very intelligent dog when she matures.

When Nicole Jackson contacted me to adopt Jetta, I did not feel it was an appropriate placement. Jetta was much older, and was too intense (like border collies are) to be placed with a small 3-year old. I felt that Jetta’s energy was not the right combination for Nicole. I explained to her Molly Brown, and after seeing Molly in the pool with my 6 year-old, it was very plain to see, that Molly Brown was the right choice. Nicole met Molly, and we met at Doc Wayne’s office in Sanford, had her stitches from her spay removed, and we were done! Molly is going to have a blast watching over this little boy!

Gisele Iam Dee Sullins I am the Director at Hale Co Animal Shelter. You got a Aussie mix from our Shelter ( Willma) Becky Harshmann told me that you did a video on Willma as well and I was wondering if you could get that to me or let mr know how I could see it. We are doing a feature story on her and her brother they are one of our most encouraging success stories they were found in a plastic bag on the side of the road when they came to us at 6 weeks almost dead from ant bites coccidia and mange I sent them to foster if I have it I will send the write up from the foster and health care provider I sent them to. They came back to us at the Shelter just a week or two before they were sent to rescue. Loved this video on the Collies so I would like to share the video of Willma with others in our area. Thank you for the wonderful inspiring videos.

  3. Comment written after the death of Goldie Hawn by shelter director where Molly Brown originated:
Gisele I have been following you and Goldie's situation and I am sorry that you and she went through such a difficult time. Rest assured it wasn't for a lack of not giving it your all. I can honestly say you did far more than most anyone else would have, Including myself. You shouldn't ever question your desire or want for your rescue you are the definition of ANIMAL RESCUE. You are the type of person that people need to learn from. So please don't deprive any of us or any animal by one sever loss. The people in rescue need you in this Field as bad as the animals do. Thank you for giving that beautiful dog your all.
