Easy Peasy Penny, the Border Collie ~ Adopted

Vicki writes: She is the best dog! She is very shy at first, but once she knows she can trust you she starts to come out of her shell. She knows the command “sit” and I’m sure she knows many more.  She is super friendly and her previous owner said she is good with kids.  They also said she only barks when strangers come to the door but stops as soon as she is told so.

This little girl is waiting transport to us. She is heartworm negative, and seems to be everyone’s favorite!  Both Kathy Keith and Vicki Truelove are in love with her! She is estimated to be 2 years old.

Her beautiful eyes hold your gaze and you get the feeling that there is a story there, an old soul, wise, and loving.  She climbs into your lap and holds on to you so tight as if the closer she is to you she will be safe.  She was an owner surrender to a high kill shelter.  Penny wants to know why?  Tightly she holds on an looks at you asking why, promising to be a good girl, why did my family dispose of me?

You can do nothing but hold her tight and pet her as tears well up in my eyes, I promise her it will never happen to her again, she is a good girl and loved, but i can’t answer her question, just tell her that i am sorry she  has been so hurt and so frightened.

Penny is a love.  Definitely house trained, polite, i leave her in the house with my dogs with no worries.  She has fit in so well I barely know she is there, but she is, wherever i go her eyes on me, watching, waiting, happy for attention to come her way.   Penny has started to play some with my girls, made herself comfortable on the couch, and never barks. Long walks in the quiet countryside seem to relax her as she walks gracefully beside me with little effort.  Penny looooves cookies! and will sit energetically for them without me having to ask.

Penny will love you forever…she is a beautiful girl who is heartbroken…so it is time to change her stars …and find a family that will love her forever. She deserves that.

  1. You’ll never receive more true love or devotion from a dog or human to match what Penny will give. She’s gonna have a fantastic future!
