Peekaboo the Aussie Puppy ~ Adopted

What a happy face!

Peekaboo is a white merle Australian Shepherd.  She and her sister Piccolo were rescued from a shelter in Georgia, a rural shelter with a very high kill rate.  When we saw her photo, we knew we wanted to get her out, despite suspecting that she might be blind and deaf (her coloring gave her a heightened possibility of this).   Vickie Truelove went to the shelter and picked them up, giving them a lift since she was headed our way anyway.  Weren’t we delighted when she called from the car to say that there was no hearing or seeing issue with our girl!

Can you see her eyes?

I estimate that Peekaboo was born around the beginning of May.  She is very affectionate, convinced that she is a lap dog.  She loves to wrestle, especially with her little sister Picallo.  Her eyes are fascinating: one is blue, the other is marbled blue and brown.  Loving this girl!  You can see lots of photos of her in her photo album.

I am fostering Peekaboo in Winter Park.  If you think you might be interested in adopting her, please first read our page on Starting Your Dog Off Right, then review our Adoption Process and e-mail me at Holly.TheDogLiberator@gmail.com

August 8th Update:

All the puppies were outside playing this morning and I, of course, had my camera in my hand.  Here they are enjoy the morning together.  Adorable!

What amazing eyes!

August 16th Update:

Hey, I told you that Peekaboo is smart, right?  She’s so smart that she’s been taught to sit and wait for her food.  Wow!  My bassets near ‘nuf take off my arm when I’m feeding them.  What a clever little girl!!!  She is going to make a wonderful dog for a wonderful family!

Going home with Laura and John

August 20th Update:

Peekaboo has her forever home! Laura and John were married just two weeks ago and knew they wanted a dog to complete their new family. With Aussie experience, they also knew the breed of their choice. How fortunate for them that Peekaboo volunteered for the job! lol Our little girl is going to be busy running, paddle boarding and maybe even surfing (OK, that last one was my idea, but these two are surfers and I think Peekaboo could do it!). Are you as happy as I am???? Wilbur By The Sea, welcome your new Dog Liberator pup!!!

  1. Good Afternoon,

I am very interested in finding out more and interviewing to adopt Peekaboo. We are a family of 4 with 1 dog (Beagle, 2yrs). We do not have a fenced yard however, have lots of places to walk/run.

    Thank you for your consideration,
    Nicole Ruth

  2. I think Peekaboo and Piccolo are gorgeous. Any two for one deals? 😉 Just playing, I didn’t see and adoption fees? Am I looking in the right place?
Looking for our first dog, I have had three in my life, my wife 2.
    Thanks
