The Dog Liberator™

The Dog Liberator rescues abandoned dogs throughout the Southeast. Based in Central Florida, this non-profit organization fosters all of their dogs in a home environment. Founded in 2009, all dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The Dog Liberator focuses in rescuing the herding breed, which consists of Border Collies, Shepherds, Sheepdogs, Aussies, Collies, and Deaf/Blind Dogs.

Ajax & Alayna Very Young Pups

I’m posting these two on their own page because they are so young, it will be a while before they are old enough to be spay/neutered.

Ajax is a blue and white Border Collie pup, but because he is only 5 weeks old, therefore, Holly has advised me to wait before we even try confirm his breed. He’s showing signs of really wanting to play with objects, and he has a good eye for tracking. Betty Acosta was observing him yesterday, and felt he would make a great agility dog.

Alayna needs extra medical care at this point. She doesn’t seem to have the strength and energy that the others have. Tabitha will be monitoring her closely and providing her with the medical care that she needs.

We believe these two pups are much younger than 9 weeks old. Keeping them together with a pack will be crucial for them to learn puppy pack manners. All of the pups in this A-Team will be kept in a family environment, be exposed to children and other dogs to help them become very well-balanced.

For more photos of these two pups, or the others on our A-Team please join us on Facebook and review our photo albums there.

Foster Update: 04/23/10:

Alayna – Aussie/Border Collie mix. Perking up and putting on weight. She is the quietest of the bunch, until you leave her alone. She howls (and my Jacob loves it! He says, “That was a good howl, Mom!” LOL) and cries. When she is out of her crate, she will follow you and lay down at your feet. No barking other than when she is alone (not with a human), will climb the baby gate to get out too. Very good with cats! Vaccinated and wormed today.

Ajax – He is very agile. He is getting so much love from my boys and will be absolutely “bomb-proof” when it comes to kids! Jacob likes to tote him around and I have to force him to let Ajax walk on his own! He is the submissive of the group, I think by default because of size. He seems to get picked on the most by all of the other pups. Vaccinated and wormed today.

  1. Alayna is putting on LOTS of weight and catching up with the other pups! I am truly impressed with her and she will make someone a great dog when she is adopted.

Ajax is just a little sweetheart too! He is a happy, well-adjusted puppy. Will be great for agility!
