Border Collie Dixie Belle is ready to move into her forever home for the Holidays!
Here’s what her foster writes:
Hi Gisele,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you on Dixie. She is one year old, fully vetted, spayed and heartworm negative. She is good with dogs/cats/kids. She loves chew toys (but don’t get cheap ones, she will destroy them in minutes!).
Housebroken, crate trained, loves to run and will run beside a bike. Very affectionate and intelligent. Does not bark except at doorbells. Fine in the car. Would LOVE agility training. Fully vetted and spayed. Adopted from Save a Life as a puppy and has never been abused. Very much a people dog and needs someone who is home most of day. Have attached the photos I have. Hope they are enough. Let me know if you need anything else. I can meet with adopters, but will you be screening them first?
Cathy
Dixie Belle has found her forever home!!!!
The Alvarez family lost their 10-year-old Border Collie to cancer the last day of the year. Those of us who have been down that road know the pain they felt. But these are not people to wallow in their sorrow. They knew they had room in their hearts for another dog and wanted it to be a rescued dog. It would have to get along with their three dogs and adult Pomeranian. And they were used to high energy dogs. Gisele and I both e-mailed her back “Dixie Belle” without knowing the other had done so ~ how’s that for great minds???
Turns out, we know what we’re talking about ~ who knew? They love our girl, and she loves them. Look how she is sitting in this photo, like she has been beside them her whole life. Gosh, I just love a happy ending!!! ~ Holly

Dixie is a pretty awesome dog. She is laying in our bed right now and has no intention of getting down. BTW, we have three cats and one adult Pomeranian.lol Thanks for providing us with a great new family member.
