What a pretty face!

Ashleigh is a Smooth Coat Border Collie mix puppy born around early March, making her approximately six months old now.  She was our Google, adopted by a lovely couple in July.  Unfortunately, the development of medical issues, including spinal surgery, made for a poor combination with puppy energy and, with many tears, the hard decision was made to allow us to find our little girl a new home.  Fortunately, Ashleigh was the recipient of such love and care that she has the appropriate self-confidence necessary to take all of this in stride.  In fact, playing with the boys, Chas and Shelby, has proven a great outlet for her puppy antics.  Life is good when you’re a puppy!

Amy will be adding current photos and updates this weekend.  She’s a teacher and this week is Science and Math Week plus Open House ~ needless to say, she is up to her eyeballs!  lol ~ Holly

Sept. 24, 2011: So far Ashleigh is doing very well in my home. She was a bit shy and timid at first, as you’d expect any puppy to be following a major change, but after a day or two she came out of it and is now content to hang with me and my pack. In fact, she gets along very well with my dogs and is doing a fantastic job with her crate. Ashleigh has shown herself to be a very playful and energetic puppy that’s looking for a fun-loving family to call her own. Her favorite thing in the world is a frozen beef marrow bone — give her one and she’s happy as a clam! Oh, and she is very ball-oriented and loves to play with her squeaky ball. It doesn’t matter if she’s the only one around because she’ll toss it to herself! lol This weekend we’ll be working on walking quietly on a leash, house training, and meeting new people. Stay tuned for additional photos and updates. ~ Amy

Sept. 29, 2011: Ashleigh is now being fostered by Melissa Smith and her fiance, Kit. This fantastic couple fostered our Foxy and our Jasmine earlier this year. I can’t wait to see Ashleigh’s photo and foster updates! ~ Amy

Ashleigh weighs approximately 30 lbs. and has been fully vetted. She is being fostered by Melissa Smith in the Wildwood/Coleman area.  You can view Ashleigh’s photo album on Facebook. If you think that you might want to give her a forever home, please review our article on Starting Out Your Dog Right, then read our adoption process and e-mail Gisele the appropriate information at gisele.TheDogLiberator@gmail.com.
