Bowie, the BC Gentleman~Adopted

Bowie, the BC Gentleman~Adopted
I'm a very good boy!

Steve Williams, who rescued little Sara several months ago)  learned that there was a Border Collie stuck at the Advanced Animal Clinic in Foley, Alabama.  It appears that Bowie’s family had to move to another state, and rather than take him along, they left him alone to wander the neighborhood.  Once he was caught, neighbors explained that he once had a family, but they split and left him behind.  The folks at the Animal Clinic adore this dog.  They told me is fully trained, gentle and very loving.  “I can’t believe someone would leave this wonderful dog behind, it’s so upsetting.  We just love him, he’s a great dog.”  Steve called Terry Watts, and told her that he had a Dog Liberator Dog for her!

Bowie is approximately 4 years old, heartworm negative and housebroken.  Steve will transport on Friday from Foley to Panama City where he will be fostered by Terry.  We will evaluate his temperament and provide more details about this gorgeous boy!   Terry has rescued and fostered many wonderful dogs for us, like BoBo, Panama Jack, Boscoe, and Fiona just to name a few.

He is great with other dogs, kids, is very gentle and affectionate. He has great manners and a people pleaser!

Bowie appears to be an Australian Shepherd with Blue Eyes, but because he has a tail, I’m going to label him as a Bossie, a BC/Aussie. Regardless, some Aussie do have tails, and some Border Collies do have white faces (bald) and blue eyes. Without a DNA test, I can’t be sure, but what I am sure of, is that he is stunningly gorgeous.

Bowie & Mary

11/06/11 Updated:  Bowie was adopted today by Mary and her adorable border collie Gabby. Mary and Gabby lost their wonderful companion Molly in June. She was a beautiful active border collie, and her passing left a big void in both Mary and Gabby’s lives. Bowie is just the right fit to fill that void! – Kevin

  1. I will never understand people that use moving as an excuse to abandon a dog. I had two bc that moved with me from the UK to AZ. With that being said, if we weren’t moving ourselves in literally 4 days, we would be very interested in adopting this guy.

  2. Is there any way his adoption fee could be lowered, we are so badley in need of a new dog and would like a border collie mix to try to train for working with the local frisbie dogs, but that is a bit above our price range.
