Katie the beautiful Border Collie-Adopted

Katie is estimated to be three years old. She is fully crate-trained, does not bark or whine, is fully housebroken, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Katie has been cat tested and loves children as well. Katie is very submissive and obedient.
Since she was surrendered with a pack, and based on her condition, we can only assume that she was owned by a hobby breeder.
Katie was examined carefully by our vet at Val-u-vet, and it appears that she has sustained an injury, that has left noticeable scars on her face. We suspect the injury was caused by a barbed wire fence. Regardless, she is healing nicely. She was suffering from an upper respiratory infection and too emaciated for Dr. Oliver to administer her vaccinations, or undergo a spay, so she was given medication and transported to foster care. One week later, we suspected she was pregnant, and she was.
It amazes me how long it takes to neglect a dog, and how quickly it takes to get them back on their feet. Katie is looking 100% better since she came to us off of transport. Her scars have all healed.
Katie’s original photo album can be viewed on Facebook.

Update on Katie made on Facebook when we realized she was pregnant.
04/17/11 Update: Katie was Adopted today!
Lynne,
She laid next to Jaden the whole way home and he talked to her and she continously gave him kissess. At one point he said “she thinks I’m tasty!”. LOL At one point she reached with her paw and moved the air conditioning vent and he thought that was hysterical. From time to time, she stood up and licked the back of my ear. All I needed to do was to ask her to lay down and she did. She is Wonderful! We love her dearly! We tried to play in the back yard when we got home but she wasn’t much interested – she spent a lot of time looking for scent (probably of you and her kids). She loves our hardwood floor in the dining room and we have a cot that my grandson slept on the night before that was right next to our bed and she chose that to sleep on last night. She actually got up this morning and went around the other side of the bed to wake my husband up. He got up with her and let her out. She just brought me her ball but not quite ready to play yet. She is resting comfortably on her bed in the living room. She has met my daughter (who came to get Jaden) and of course she loved her. My cat is not quite sure about the whole idea but he will come around and I sure they will become best friends.
Thank you sooo much for taking such good care of her and making it possible for us to have her. My husband’s reluctance over getting another dog is gone and my pain over losing my dog is history. I truly believe she was meant to be with us and that we were meant to have her. And yes….we are keeping her name. Will update again soon.
Thanks, Cindy

She is SO GORGEOUS! I just love that DOG!
I'm so glad Katie got the loving home she deserves. We adopted Charlie last year after losing our beautiful border collie Maggie. We couldn't be happier with her. I always say Charlie cured my broken heart and I did the same for her. Katie is absolutely beautiful!
