This beautiful girl comes from Andalusia, Alabama.  She was originally thought to be very fearful, maybe she was, but the staff at the shelter helped coax her out of her fears.  She arrived last night, and is as friendly as can be.  Laura gave her a bath, and a good brushing… no issues whatsoever!

She is great with the family and the pack.  She will be seeing the vet soon, will be vetted, heartworm tested and spayed shortly.

You can see more photos of her on Facebook.

Thank you so much for your donation to sponsor Katy’s freedom and a chance for her to have a family of her own!

09/01/13 Update:  I just uploaded new photos of Katy  on Facebook.  She is a wonderful girl.  She is very attached to Claire, but she’s just getting used to my place.  This morning, she was more adventurous!

09/04/13 Update: Katy is literally Claire’s shadow.  She is unsure of what to do.  After reviewing her paperwork, she was turned in by her owner for barking too much.  I haven’t heard her bark!

Katy should be with another dog, or a pack, but she also needs to spend some alone time with her human.  Basic puppy obedience classes would be really good for her, it would increase her self-esteem and show her she can do things on her own.

Katy did really well at the vet yesterday.  She is heartworm negative.  She is very thin, and will be de-wormed several times.  She was not afraid, and was curious and happy with strangers and other dogs.  While she can be a bit skittish at times, that behavior is fading away quickly.

Katy would do well with a young couple that would take the time to expose her to new things.

09/06/13 Update:  Katy is doing great!  She has more self-confidence and wants attention from her humans!  She is crate trained, and is developing quite a personality!  She is seeking more attention from people and is not hiding behind Claire anymore!

09/09/13 Update:  Katy is simply fun!  She makes these cute noises, and squeals when she’s happy.  She is wanting more and more affection from us, and she is great with our pack.  Katy is a communicator, and if I didn’t have so much work to do, I’d sit and talk to her all day long!

As with all of our adoptions, please visit their Facebook photo albums for updates!  If we included all of the updates on this website it would crash!
