Ocala the Red Border Collie Puppy-Adopted!

Before we start, let me give you a moment to catch your breath……

Yes, isn’t this a breath-taking puppy? How often do you see a red Border Collie? Pretty rare!

How did we end up with Ocala? Oh, what a tangle that is! She was in a high-kill shelter in Tennessee, posted as a Brittany Spaniel. Dale in Texas sent us this photo, asking if we could take her. Dale has identified dogs for us to rescue in the past, and when she saw Ocala, she immediately thought of us. Her instincts said, “Brittany Spaniel? I don’t think so. Looks like a Border Collie.” We agreed, but we didn’t have time to debate. Ocala’s time was up and she was scheduled to be euthanized. Decision ~ yes!

That of course was just the beginning. It took two weeks to put together a transport all the way from Tennessee to Central Florida, but boy, was it worth it!

What we know about Ocala so far is that she is about 8-months-old, 35 pounds. She is good with dogs and indifferent to cats. Oh, and she can climb fences! Wait, wait, wait!!!! Think about that last statement ~ she can climb fences at 8-months! That means she is smart (she is bored) and she is athletic! This beautiful girl is a packet of potential wrapped in red fur!!! She is being fostered by Jesse, a dog tainer and disc dogging competitor. Are you as excited about Ocala as we are!?!

You can view more pictures of Ocala on her facebook photo album.

Ocala was adopted today by Kevin Smith and his wife! Can’t wait for updates! She has been renamed Rylee Malone! The Smith’s are now in charge of renaming all of my dogs! What a hoot!
