Springsteen’s Rosie~Adopted
05/19/13 Update: Little Rosie was adopted by Cynthia and Jeff or Rockledge, Florida. Cynthia adopted Lady Melbourne from us many years ago! Rosie will go to work with Cynthia, as she is a school teacher for disabled children. Rosie’s job will be to sit on little laps and be petted! Woo Hoo!
Rosie is a purebred Papillon about five years of age. Â She weighs just under 8 pounds. Â Her former roommate, Sheba, is also in our rescue. Â Rosie had has some hot spots due to fleas, but all has been treated. Â She also had a severe ear infection and serious dental issues, which are also being take care of by Newman Veterinary Center. Â Rosie is incredibly friendly with everyone, including other dogs.
In short, she is a little doll! Â You can see more photos of Rosie on Facebook.
05/08/13 Update: I’ve been told that these little guys have bad teeth, and I have rescued a lot of small breed dogs that had serious dental issues, but Rosie, poor little girl, only had one tooth left, it was infected and could not be saved. Unfortunately, now she doesn’t have any teeth at all, but that doesn’t stop her! She’s eating very well, and recovering from her spay nicely. She really wants to be held right now! She has had all of her shots, and has been micro-chipped. Special thanks to Brittney for giving her a much needed bath! Rosie is resting comfortably, and she’s simply waiting for the right home to find her, scoop her up, and bring her home!

Hi Gisele, I am Lady Melbourne’s mom and am interested in Rosie, is she still available? What is her adoption fee? Look forward to hearing from you–Cynthia

Rosie, now named Zoe (rhymes with joey), has become a happy member of our pack. She is the happiest, bounciest little dog. Her tongue flops out of her mouth with no teeth to hold it in place, and it really flops around when she tries to lick my face. She bounces around on her hind legs when excited, and she’s a good jumper — runs toward the sofa and leaves the floor 3 or 4 feet from the sofa to jump up. She loves to have her belly scratched when she finally quiets down and tucks her little head in next to me. She still wets the floor and has to sleep in the bathroom at night, but I think that’s getting better. She eats the same dry food as Hollie (Lady Melbourne) even without teeth. And her ears are still her biggest asset, making us laugh when she moves one independent of the other when she is checking where some sound is coming from. Show someone a photo of Zoe’s face with those ears, and they invariably burst out laughing. Who can’t love this dog? Who developed the breed and for what purpose? This one is a cool little dog.
