Sydney~Adopted

Sydney~Adopted
an Awesome Aussie!

Sydney prefers to be the only dog in the home.  She gets along with other dogs outdoors, and plays well in backyards or dog parks, but does not want to share her home indoors with another dog.  She is currently being fostered in the Bossier City, Louisiana area by Rex Howard.

Rex shares that Sydney is very submissive, intelligent, obedient and loving. Rex also believes that Sydney is closer to 12 months of age, much younger than we originally thought.

History:  Dale Parrent sent me this photo and I fell in love. When I was trying to pull her, I learned that another rescue was taking her, and I was relieved. What I didn’t know is that other rescue was me, because Deb Gaylord drove to pick her up! Both Dale and Deb have the eye for TDL dogs, and they’ve done it again…. Welcome, Syndey! She is young, gorgeous and heartworm negative!

She comes to us from Colbert County Animal Shelter in Tuscumbia, AL.  Her photos can be viewed on Facebook.

10/11/12 Update:  Sydney is one well traveled dog!  She was adopted by Deb Gaylord and transported to Louisiana, where after driving hundreds of miles to bring her home, he found that she was not fond of his Aussie, and it created a lot of stress in Rex’s household.  Even though Rex adored Sydney, she was not a match.  We were very lucky to have found Michele, who also drove hundreds of miles, brought Sydney home last night.  Sydney is one lucky dog!

Michelle writes:  The kids LOVE her. I don’t know if my son is going to sleep tonight.   He may stay by the kennel all night!!  Thanks so much for the joy you have given my family. My so now thinks this is our beloved Pal “reincarnated”!!

  1. Sydney, can you please tell us how much she is? Is she house trained? She will be keep in the house with us and are other female Aussie. We do not work.We love are pets. Thank You Brenda and Bill

  2. my friend is already in love with Sydney and needs her to come live with him. he’s out of town today, and asked me to contact you. Rex and his wife Cindy live in Lousiana, but Rex is originally from here. He lost his beloved Dancer, a beautiful German Shepherd last year. They did adopt a dog, and he is adorable. He is a 2-1/2 year old aussie, with a great temperament. He is not agressive, and very used to being with other dogs. He is neutered. They have a dream enormous back yard with a privacy fence.

Although Rex travels (drives bus for rock and roll bands, way cool!) but Cindy is home all the time. The boy dog really needs a playmate, and when i showed Rex the pic of Sydney he called me immediatly, he wants her! He is travelling now, stuck in the airport in Baltimore, but headed home. He will be there tomorrow, and would love to hear from you. 256-426-1183. Thanks! please let me know if you have any questions.

  3. I am interested in Sydney. I have a 7 yr old Aussie female and two other dogs live with us, but they are my daughter’s babies. My Aussie (Hallie) lost her companion dog, a male Husky, in May and I’d like to have a companion for her. I have had Australian Shepherds for years and I LOVE them. Please let me know if she’s available still.

    Thank you!
