Nick was found wandering the country side on a desolate road, and lucky for him, Becky Harshman was driving on that road. She was on her way home when she spotted him, got him in her car, and she took him to Chilton County Humane Society where Joe Murphy took care of him. At the time Splash, our Golden Retriever pup was being adopted, I received an email from someone interested in Splash, but asking if I had a Retriever. Joe and Becky sent Nick to us hopeful that we would find him a great home. Nick has to learn some basic manners, and he must be neutered before he can move in to his new home. We have asked behaviorist, Paul Pipitone to come over and meet Nick, and help us take Nick to a new level.
What’s really funny about Nick is… he talks!!!
01/02/10 Update: Nick loves my 11-year old son, he’s great on the leash, and knows the sit command. He’s very affectionate, and quite a puppy at heart, unfortunately, he doesn’t know his own size or his own strength!
01/06/10 Update: We called him everything. Bear, Moose, you name it, but he’s been adopted folks! All 70 pounds of him, and he is GORGEOUS. He’s going to a wonderful home where his size is appreciated. Judging from his baritone barking, this family will have all the protection they need!
Take a look at these photos, Nick doesn’t look anything like his shelter photos, but we always expect that. What a gorgeous and kind face, but don’t be fooled, his bark is quite intimidating! And his new family? I don’t have to say a thing, do I?
